AFI | AACTA Patron - Dr. George Miller

"When, in 1984, I became the facilitator of the Byron Kennedy Award (for the pursuit of excellence) it dawned on me that the AFI was the one constant in the landscape of Australian screen culture. Consequently, when I was so kindly invited, in 2001, to be its inaugural Patron I accepted with an urgent sense that the Institute's vitality was crucial. How fabulous therefore is this – the first ever AACTA Awards with the redoubtable Geoffrey Rush at the head of our Academy?"

AFI | AACTA Patron, Dr George Miller, speaking of the inaugural AACTA Awards.
