What inspired you to create BOUNCE PATROL?
We're a group of friends from musical theatre backgrounds who love entertaining and educating kids. Having a YouTube distribution model in mind from the get-go allowed us to tailor the content to that platform specifically, create the show on a lean budget, and reach a global audience of kiddos and families.
What challenges did you face in creating this production?
Lockdowns in Melbourne presented new challenges. Previously we filmed together as a group, but rolling restrictions caused us to get creative with the schedule. This year we filmed each person individually, and only brought the group together in post - the cast never crossed paths, so we had to pre-plan the interactions and eye lines. This was particularly challenging with dance choreography; getting precise timing when your fellow dancers shot on a separate day.
What are you hoping audiences will take away from watching this film?
Our songs have a danceable beat - we hope to inspire little ones (and parents!) to jump around, move their bodies, and bounce along with us! The show is named after the way kids move when they hear a song they love (even when they're too young to walk or dance properly), they bend their knees and bounce!
