The Drover's Wife the Legend of Molly Johnson

AACTA welcomed back year-round programming with a special member screening of Australian film THE DROVER'S WIFE THE LEGEND OF MOLLY JOHNSON. The screenings were held at The Ritz in Sydney, The Palace Barracks in Brisbane, and the Palace Como in Melbourne to packed audiences of AACTA members and their guests.

Following the screening was a profound on-stage discussion between with writer, director and star Leah Purcell and producer for Oombarra productions Bain Stewart. In their candid discussion, Leah shared the process behind reimagining Henry Lawson’s 1892 short story The Drover’s Wife, sharing humorous personal anecdotes and giving insight into what it took to bring the film to life.  

Afterwards guests mingled and conversed with one another, taking the opportunity to chat with Leah and Bain.
