A Curated Collection of Short Films from the Asian Region.
Due to popular demand AACTA returns to Vivid Sydney with the short film festival Northern Voices.
Join us as we present a collection of some of the newest and most thought provoking short films made by our northern neighbours. Including work from Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Syrian, Hong Kong, Singaporean & South Korean filmmakers.
Northern Voices offers an eclectic mix of short films from established Asian filmmakers – including Oscar & BAFTA nominees, as well as student work from high ranked institutions such as the China Academy of Art and Tokyo University of the Arts.
Deep dive into the hearts and minds of our northern neighbours and look at the world through their eyes. Over 15 micro-short films will be presented, all are under ten minutes and most have never been seen in Australia before.
At the end of the program guests will be asked to vote for their favourite via their phone to determine the Northern Voices Audience Prize 2022.
