Unsung Stories Gala

AACTA, in partnership with the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations, invites you and a guest to the AACTA Unsung Stories Gala at the Ritz Cinemas, Randwick. 

This special event will showcase personal stories told by Chinese Australians, shared for the first time with a broad audience.  

AACTA’s Unsung Stories Initiative, launched in September 2022, sought to empower Chinese Australians from all walks of life to share their unique experiences of life in Australia, directly to the camera. The aim was to reveal their personal truths as Chinese Australians, to foster empathy, understanding and unity among Australians of all backgrounds.

A select committee of respected storytellers, writers, and industry peers reviewed the submissions. AACTA will now share a number these stories on the big screen. The chosen stories span a variety of ages and backgrounds, reflecting a wide range of experiences. 

Please join us to recognising and appreciating these important stories. They are more than just personal tales – they are a significant step towards a more inclusive and understanding Australia.
